Asbestos Awareness

During this four hour course we will cover the following with you:

• Nature and properties of asbestos, giving you an understanding of its effects on health.

• Types of asbestos and where it may be located.

• Knowledge of where to obtain information on asbestos within premises prior to starting work.

• What to do if suspicious materials are found.

• How to use appropriate workplace precautions, including risk assessment process and understanding when to seek advice.

• Awareness of general legislation in relation to health and safety and asbestos in particular.

• Knowledge of procedures to follow when coming into accidental contact with ACM's (Asbestos Containing Materials) and understanding the appropriate emergency arrangements to put in place

There no specific entry requirements for this training course.

Upon completion you will receive a CWA certified Asbestos Awareness certificate.
